Install PVDCal

There is no installer. PVDCal is a browser application, and this page adds it to your desktop, taskbar or home screen with its own icon and its own window — the same application, still running in your browser. An internet connection is still required while you calculate. Nothing to update, nothing to uninstall.

Your browser installs apps from its own menu — the steps for each device are below.

You stay signed in, and your subscription works exactly as it does in a tab.

If your browser does not show the button

Every browser hides the command in a slightly different place. Pick yours.

On an iPhone or iPad, use Safari. Chrome and the other browsers on iOS cannot add a site to the home screen — the option is not in their share menu, and nothing explains why. Open the site in Safari and the step below works.

Windows — Chrome or Edge

  1. 1Open pvdcal.geotechlogic.com and sign in.
  2. 2Click the install icon in the address bar (a screen with a downward arrow), or open the ⋮ menu and choose Install PVDCal.
  3. 3Confirm. The icon appears on your desktop and in the Start menu.

Mac — Chrome or Edge

  1. 1Open the site and sign in.
  2. 2Choose Install from the address bar icon, or ⋮ → Cast, save and share → Install page as app.
  3. 3The app lands in your Applications folder and Launchpad.

System requirements

A current Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) or Safari, on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or iOS. There is nothing else: no licence server, no plug-in, no minimum graphics card. More processor cores make a probabilistic run and a back-analysis finish sooner, because the solves are spread across them; nothing else about the answer changes.

An internet connection is still needed while you work, because your subscription is checked as you go — see using it on site.
